Section 278 Agreements

Section 278 Agreements

Section 278 of the Highways Act (as amended by the New Roads and Streetworks Act 1991) says:

A highway authority may, if they are satisfied it will be of benefit to the public, enter into an agreement with any person – on terms that that person pays the shole of such part of the cost of the works as may be specified or determined in accordance with the agreement

Our NRSWA staff have vast experience with working alongside Highway Authority processes with regards to the delivery of 278 works, in particular Transport for London’s TMAN process and its associated timescales. Our insight into this field has enabled our clients to deliver 278 works in the most challenging of locations and conditions.

We collaborate with developers and Highway Authorities throughout the entire process to ensure works programmes are delivered efficiently and on time.
